Wilson Gilliam, Construction Manager


Wilson was born in 1941 in Franklin County, North Carolina, and raised in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
Wilson served in the U.S. Army with the 82nd Airborne Division from 1960-1966 and attended various schools during that time, including Airborne Jump School. He attended 3rd Division Noncommissioned Officer Academy in Kitizen, Germany in 1962, where he graduated with honors. He was also recognized as soldier of the year eight times in a 12 month period.
After his Army career, Wilson continued to work on government bases and shipyards, but in a construction and builder capacity, including home building, masonry construction, heavy equipment, grading and heavy industrial construction.
He received a letter of recommendation from the U.S. Navy for designing and installing a section of intricate railroad track at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard.
Wilson joined the TMI team in 1994. His work can be seen at Sycamore Lodge Resort and Gettysburg Battlefield Resort, renovating and constructing RV sites, cabins and resort buildings.
Wilson lives in Carthage, North Carolina, with his wife, Janice, of 22 years. Janice has two children from a previous marriage, three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Wilson has two boys from a previous marriage and five grandchildren that live in Chesapeake, Virginia, and own and operate Chesapeake Helicopter Service.
Wilson is a member of the American Legion Post 382 in Sanford, North Carolina. Home restoration is his favorite type of work and the Victorian Era is his choice of architecture. Wilson also enjoys fishing, restoring old wooden boats, and golfing.
